Well for a while i have always considered cories and today i went to the LFS and there were so many different varities, and i fell in love, the cory bug got me.
They are the cutest things ever! I bought 6 pygmy cories that are brown spotted, they are hiding now but they are so cute!

Congrats on the purchase. Dwarf corys are some of the most entertaining fish available.

You probably have C. habrosus.

Once you've gotten bit you are in deep trouble

I too have been bit, and the Hasbrosus (Danties) are absolutely adorable I am forever catching mine running up and down the 6ft of tank all together, or with their big brother metaes (Masked Bandits). They also play with the Neon Tetras...You just have to love them. The picture here shows 3 that are always together, being the buddies that they are...heidi

I definitley have C. habrosus, they are so adorable! Two have paired up and are always together and another four seem to always be together. Will the evetually form one group? Also, they are swimming up and down the tank vertically, are they picking algae off the side of the tank or are they just being crazy cories?

Corys are primarily carnivorous, so they are just playing and showing how cute they can be.

I could have a tank with just nothing but C. Habrosus. Wait a minute..... I do have a tank with nothing but C. Habrosus .

I just love them

Just make sure you provide foods for wee little ones so they get some too. They like Hikari Micro Pellets (at least once they are adults). They also love Hikari Blood Worms. Other brands are soooooo big, but Hikari is tiny. They love Hikari Frozen Daphnia too. As a staple, I feed mine Wardley Shrimp Pellets. They slowly dissolve and they don't have to work so hard to get some. Bottom Feeder pellets are ok, but they really have to work that to get some.

It is really up to the corries, and how they are feeling at the moment as to whether they will form one school or not...

There are times when mine (all 15) form one school, and act like total demons disrupting anything and everything in their paths. Then there are times when the only school I have are those 3 I showed you.

I have to ask, how big is the tank they are in? I know mine are in a 125, and they can swim the 6ft in a matter of seconds, then swim straight up the side and plumet into the shrimp pellets and begin to munch away...their antics are endless, and often keep me up quite late at night watching them, as I do believe they don't sleep at all:%)

And Diane, I have actually thought of getting them a 20 gallon for themselves...but then who would they have to torpedo their little bodies at and scare:%) Though I still might go back and get a few more and do a tank of just themz)as I don't think I'll ever have enough of their antics...heidi

They are in a 20 gallon tank. I think it might be a 20 gallon High tank, not sure. It is 16" high i think if i can remember. How should i get the bloodworms to them? The other fish always eat them? I feed the hikari. Will they swim up and eat?

You can reach into the tank to put some worms on the gravel for them. That's what I usually do for my corys.

Well, I usually thaw them, then I use some plant tweezers and put some down in a favorite corner. I have also used an medicine tube you use to feed kids. YOu know, the kind with a squeezie bulb on the end that has measurements on it. I put a little tank water in with the cube in a cup and just suck some in. I can then squirt some down low where it drops to the gravel where they are at.

When the habros are really small tho, it is wise to chop some into smaller pieces so they aren't so long.
