Hey guys.

I want to feed my fish tubifex worms. The problem is is that when i ut them in my tank, they just sink to the bottom, and not get eaten.

I dont really want one of those cone feeders, and i want to feed my clown loaches this... what can I do?

If they sink to the bottom, don't the clown loaches eat them?

Loaches dig... I guarantee those worms are getting eaten, if not during the day then at night when the loaches are more active.

how about puuting a small dish/saucer in the tank where it collects the worms when you put them into the tank ?

I fed my clown loaches some blackworms and 4 months later when I broke the tank down I found most of the worms alive in the substrate.

Ok, I bought some of those frozen blood worms.
WHen I fed them to my clown loaches, they just ate them, then spit it back out again. It looked like my corys, and gouramis like them though... didnt really see any of my tetras eat it.

Do you think they are spitting it back out cuz their not used to it, or because they dont like it?

I've never seen a clown that didnt like bloodworm heck, i dont know to many fish that dont eat bloodworms. My neons eat bloodworms, though they are kinda big tanks them a while to finally gulp it down. I doubt your clowns are not used to it they probably dont like it.

never known any of those fish to knock back ne kinda meat actually. my black widows and cories lov bloodworms and tubifix. especially seeing as these fish r pretty much exclusively carniverous in the wild. i have had fish that simply like to spit their food only to take it back in. goldfish are prime examples of this. my cories also tend to 'bite' off more than they can chew and so spit some back out. but they quickly devour their entire meal. use the dish or something similar. or try using dead feed.

I know I don't like my meals frozen dry. . Try mysis--it usually scores big amongst all fish. And not freeze dried this time.

When i feed them it.. i let them melt in a cup of water from the tank for about 5 minutes, and then feed my fish it.
