If anyone is in the DC/BWI area looking for kuhlis, Aquarium Center in Randallstown has both black and striped. Not bad prices either.

Yeah, that was one of the places that said their khulies had been falling ill and dieing a lot lately. I was just in there like a week or two ago and saw some of them again.

I'm not... really a big fan of that place though... :/

I was at my LFS today and they had some Khulis that were only 1 inch long. I wish I had room for the little guys.

I just brought one 4 days ago, and I just found it dead today, before this I had 2 weather loaches. Which as of today I have only one left. Seem as though they are not very hardy. But Australia has plenty of them, but I won't be buying any more.

FT - I dont know the exchange rate, but that sounds bloody expensive. We get them for about 3.50AU each. But maybe thats just me not paying attention to stock market stuff on TV

Pepper corys $6.95 AUD
Bronce corys $6.95 AUD
Albino corys $5.95 AUD
Jullii corys $16.95 depending on your lfs. Cheaper in Brisbane - these prices are lower Goldcoast Australia.

My bronze cories were $4.00 AUD each, Saw a panda cory for $10.50 and thought that was too expensive.

But back to the original post,...here in Aus kulhi's are not really rare...go for about $5 AUD each.

Is it just me in New Orleans or is there a major shortage of kuhli loaches. I have asked about 6 LFS's not including wally world and pet smart. No one has them or an eta on them. They claim all their inventory has been dieing on them and the fish suppliers arent offering them. I sorta want some for my new tank. :88)

Hehe I saw two cool golden dojo's last night. I was like drool. I had Kuhli's for years. They are hardy. I miss them. Just when I get back into things I end up looking for my favorite fish and cant find it. It took weeks just to find a Dojo.

Hey, im in British Columbia, Canada,
and here the kuhli loaches are 5.49 for a pair at my LFS and 3.99 each at another.
The guy at the LFS said that what is happening is that kuhlis are very sensitive to transport, and if they arent shipped properly, they often die shortly after arrival. He said that the major distributors for most of canada get the kuhlis from 1 major farm, sometimes 2, and the shipping practices are just not good enough. However, he did say that the farm in indonesia where they come from, where most aquarium distributors get them from, has changed their shipping methods, and the kuhlis are looking much better!
So there is hope Kuhli lovers, just have a little patience!
