I think I had a Yo Yo that was not so nice if I recall though..
SO how are Kuhlis? I need something to control snails in a very very peaceful 125 gal tank.
Then, I also need something for snails in my 20 gal with Krib pair..thinking Yo Yo tough enough for them?

ok yoyos are a bit rawdy, essecially if they are not kept in a group (4+) And as for kuhlis IME they only eat small/baby snails, kuhlis are great fish tho
And for the Krib pair, well i would leave them alone.

Eating babies would be good enough...I can see and kill the big ones. The Kribs won't be able to have any new tankmates for awhile..i found a clutch of eggs tonight.

I have not had any success at all with kuhlis eating snails in the few years and three tanks they have been in. As well the only problems I have had with yoyos is when kept alone, or with one other yoyo.

Agreed, three yoyos seems to be the magic number. When I had three, they would school together playfully all the time. Since one of them died, the other two pretty well keep to themselves. I've been looking for a replacement for months, none of the local LFS's ever seem to have them. They are in a very peaceful tank, too, and don't bother the other inhabitants, but I have heard of aggressive individuals.

Well darn. But probably a good thing.. I went back for some of the new BIG kuhlis..and they have some issues with their fins. Looks like fin rot
The other LFS has a nice healthy kuhli..but only one. I really want to buy 3..together. Will just have to wait. So far snails aren't getting bad in the big tank..maybe the Pearl Gouramies or female betta is helping after all..time will tell.
the 20 gal has a few snails though..but the Kribs won't allow anything to eat them I doubt..
