Since it is pretty small for a pleco (site says 4.4" ) , do you think I can keep one in a 10g? If not could someone tell me a minimum tank size? Thanks.

There wouldn't be any other bottom feeders in the tank.

One would fit in a ten gallon, but I can't say for sure unless I know what other fish are in there, or will be in there. Plecos produce a lot of waste, so make sure your bioload can handle that.

Like all peckoltia sp., these (called imperial leopards on our stock list at the store) guys are fairly active foragers, especially during the day time. The fact that most of the genus will subsist somewhat on wood means that you have to include bogwood as well. That makes for incredibly cramped quarters if you ask me. Also, while plecs produce a lot of solid waste (easily removed via siphon), they are generally somewhat sessile compared to other fishes, and produce the same amount, if not less, of the waste that actually matters compared to other fish--ammonia.

I was thinking of keeping it in a tank with 3 badis siamensis.
Thanks for your replies.

I wouldn't do it, then. What with the bogwood, and the three (eventually) two and a half inch fish, you won't have room for the pleco. You really don't have room for any pleco, except *maybe* a zebra. They are very tough to find and expensive, so I doubt you'll be adding one, anyways.

I saw a few zebras at this Fish Safari at Virginia beach. That is the best fish store I've ever been to. If you guys ever get a chance to go to VA beach, you definately need to go to Fish Safari. They have like everything

Yup, I've been there. I visit once a month or so. The problem with them is prices, and they often have sick fish.

They had zebra plecos there? I've never seen any, perhaps I missed them.

Yeah, I think it was just one. I know I saw royal plecos though and a few others. When, I was there, all fish looked healthy. Probably a new shipment.

Zebras aren't that much smaller...
