Welps, since he's already 4", he aint gonna help much with your algea, once he hits round 6" he'll just become a scavenger, i used hikari algea wafers, and i also hope you have a nice large wide tank 4 him when he gets big enough such as a 125 (180 larger would be best) since he'll get round 18" and really good filtraion cus a pleco that size does nothing but: *eat*sleep*poo**eat*sleep*poo**eat*sleep*poo**eat*sleep*poo*

You can feed him some Algae Wafers or some sinking pellets. There are alot of brands to choose from. Just drop some before you switch off the lights & he'll snack on them.

The leopard pleco is the same thing as the gibbiceps, or sailfin plec. They get very large, potentially over eighteen inches, so make sure you know what to do with the fish as it grows.

As for food, just about anything that sinks will be fair game. They will eat algae wafers and shrimp pellets, and especially relish live and frozen foods, if they make it past tankmates. These fish will also eat vegetables such as zucchini and cucumber.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."
