ive looked around the internet and found these. i think that 3 or 4 would be cool in my 125g tank. does anybody know anything else about them or any comments. id probably keep them with an oscar or two and a larger sized pleco.

I have one that's in the 6-7" range. from what I remember reading, they grow to around 18" so 3-4 would be a bit much for a 125. I have now idea how they'd get along with others of their own kind, but regardless simply because of their size I'd only go with 1.

Sorubim lima can actually reach 24 inches. If I was getting these things, I'd be looking at 500 gallons as a baseline set-up.

Actually, more than one WILL live together, and make a pretty spectacular display when doing so. But for that, you need a COLOSSAL aquarium. To put four of them together (which would look stunning against a backdrop of huge bogwood root tangles and Giant Vallisneria) you'd be looking at 1,000 gallons ... mind you, if you happen to be a fan of huge catfish, it would be worth the expense
