When he was laying on his log in his rest position he was completely normal. However, come feeding time a stringy mucus filled the tank and appeared to be coming off him. I've noticed this mucus floating in the tank in the past. Is it possible that this is a defense mechanism and my Jack Dempsey was just making him mad? |

I'd check the water quality. With heavy feeding for predators, water quality can drop temporarily, which might cause the shedding of its slime coat. I'm not sure, I haven't heard of this happening before. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |
