Yesterday, i noticed a silence in my bedroom. This is very unusual, since i usually hear the splashing of a penguin 170 that filters my 25g. Sure enough, my zebra loach found its way into the filter and was partially jammed between the propeller. I freed him, but he was in really bad shape. He was swimming around and acting ok, despite the chunk missing from his back. I setup a quarantine tank after work today and i was going to move him over and try some medacine. But it was already gone, he was laying under a plant, dead. Even though i have rare fish that cost x20 as much as him, and fish that i couldnt even replace if i wanted to, he was my favorite. He was the first inhabitant of the 25g, he cycled it. He was the fish that got me into fish keeping, he was my first fish. RIP

I've had experience with fish in filters () and it isn't pretty.

Im still trying to figure out how he got in. I keep it covered, and there is a strainer. Oh well, these things happen i guess.

That's sad news. On the plus side, though, you have some free space for new fish (hope that didn't come out too insensitive).
