Hi folks

I want to move this catfish to my larger tank. He currently hides in a plastic boat at the rear of my smaller tank - I never see him except when cleaning the tank in that area and he clings to the inside of the boat. I dont want to move the boat as this tank is suffering from hair alge and it may transfer the spores.

Is it best to move the boat into a bucket, put it in dark room and wait? Any other ideas?

Thanks

Regards

My plecos do that alot in the fake log they like to hide in. I just lift the log up out of the water with the net sitting under neath it. They then try to get back to the water by falling into the net. Try that, it should work for you i hope. If that doesnt work you could try using something to kinda give hime a slight push so he will let go. Just a thought

Whenever I do something that involves taking the piece of driftwood that my striped raphael hides in out of the tank, I just take it out and put in on the floor. After a few minutes he comes out and starts crawling around on the floor, and then I just put him back in the tank.

You could try this, but if he doesn't come out in 4-5 minutes you should put him back in and try something else.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

He hides in the "bows" of the boat, he seems to crawl into a crevice and holds on for dear life. Tried tapping and shaking the boat lightly to dislodge him but to no avail - will try leaving the boat out of the water for 5 minutes - if he does crwal out, what the kindest way to pick him up?

thanks

he'll come out eventually if there's no water in there. my striped and spotted raphaels hide in a piece of driftwood. like cory addict, i just take it out and eventually they drop out of the wood. then i just pick them up by hand and pop them into a bucket of water. careful though, they've got some sharp spines on their fins, and mine kindof flex their body and have poked me pretty good a couple times
