	My pleco
boil Enthusiast Posts: 201 Kudos: 420 Votes: 28 Registered: 19-Dec-2003	I thought it was cool that for the past two days, my pleco went near the surface, and when i dropped the flakes in he stuck hi mouth halfway out of the water and sucked the flakes in. I was wondering if that was normal.

I can't tell if he's just hungry b/c he's not getting enough food, or if he's just a rebel plec and not shy like most others. What kind of plec is it boil? -Formerly known as the Ferretfish

-VilmeR- Hobbyist Posts: 119 Kudos: 23 Registered: 05-Mar-2003	boil, one of my pleco's does that all the time! He gets his algae discs everynight, and will even bump the big Cichlids out of the way to get a mouthfull of spirulina flake He is not one bit shy, he is just a hearty eater.

What it did was swim in its back near the surface of the water after I fed some flakes and "sucked" them in. Only one of the four in there will do it... don't know where they learn that sort of behavior from.

They also seem to enjoy boiled peas as well as pieces of chopped shrimp (on occasion). [span class="edited"][Edited by Klee 2004-09-03 01:28][/span]
