I have looked for homes for mine. In most places it is illegal to throw them in a river, especially if they aren't local.

Some people caught a huge Iridescent shark in a lake.

GET RID OF THEM

This is the first time I have told someone to get rid of a fish, because I really hate when people tell me to, but honostly, you need to get rid of them.

They costantly fly around the tank, startle the fish (my clown loach wouldnt eat for a week and a half, because they zoomed around everywhere.

When we need to do gravel vacs, they get stuck in rocks/ plants, and we need to rip the whole tank down (take the possibility of crusing the kuhlii loaches, and starteling the YoYo loach, and stress then out alot. They bang themselvs off of the glass, and knock themselvs out - it's pretty entertaining watching them just lay on the bottom - WHICH IS WHAT THEY SHOULD DO ALL DAY LONG!!!!

we call them "Irritating Sharks"

EDIT* also, you know someone with a 1000 or more gallon tank? Because that's what they need.

Dragon fish.... That sounds like a bichir to me. They are also sometimes called dinosaur eels. Common names are getting just plain ridiculous.

Sorry, but Bichirs aren't commonly called dragonfish. :%)

That happens to many people, unfortunately. Don't feel too bad about it.

I dont I just hope I can find someone to take it. What does anyone think about maybe releasing it in a lake or is this a bad idea?

Bad idea. Either you're too far north and the fish will die, or you're far south enough that it could effect the natural populations of fish (Florida is a fun place to fish for Oscars, Common Plecs, and others).

I will probably do that. And if they do not take it back I will just try and find someone to give it to that has a tank large enought for it.

I believe it. And I am not going to do that I am not sure what to do yet I have to wait and talk to the owner of the pet store and see what they say as to taking it back since it did not die or anything.

Even if it isn't illegal (although it would take city of complete retards to keep it legal), captive, exotic fish should never be released into the wild. The fish will most likely die, and if it doesn't it will screw up the entire ecosystem and introduce diseases.

My dad has 50 acres of land in western Virginia and is building a pond so I might give it to him and see how it does.

I cannot see the shark surviving up that far north over winter. It will likely die if you do that; it's a tropical fish, after all. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

What medicine are you using? Did you remember to take out the carbon? How long have you been treating?

Ich can take a while to disappear from the fish; even then, you have to keep treating since it's not the white spot stage that you kill, it's the microscopic aquatic phase that you have to kill.

Unfortunatly I did not get to it in time the shark died as well as both of my platyies. It really sucks but now I know to look better at the fish and will learn from this. I was using "AP PLUS CURE-ICK" it worked I guess none of my other fish have it and I am continuing to treat the water and change the filter once I am done.

That is one of the worst common names I've ever heard!

Could you get a picture of it? By the looks of the forum you posted this in, I assume it is a bottom dwelling chark like a rainbow shark, and not something like a Bala Shark.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.
