It looks like a Glyptoperichthys or Hypostomus species to me. It would be easier to tell with a side picture, is the fish cooperative enough for you to take one?

Either way, I bet it is something that gets fairly sizable.

Looks like a baby Gibbiceps to me. The markings on mine started off kinda like that then developed into the more 'standard' gibbiceps markings

Yeah, I also think it looks like a sailfin pleco (Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps).

Mebbe you've got a new species

But seriously, if you've got a tank big enough to house large plecos i'd just keep it and see how it does lol.

Robby,

Hi. IMO it is what I had originally stated on Planet Catfish as the g. paraidae but I am leaving it to the "experts" to confirm with you as they are more knowledgable about "import patterns" than I am as I am just going on looks. It would be extremely helpful however if you could find out where it was imported from and that would just confirm it 100%. I'm glad you were able to get some very nice pictures of it, I wouldn't mind having one myself! jamie a.k.a. pureplecs
