A few months ago on aquabid.com, I saw Ffn (fishyfishy.net) sell what they called a "Chocolate Chip" Pleco. I immediately fell in the love with the charming-looking fish! Unfortunately, it was only being sold as part of a package deal with some other plecos. I have been looking around for anything else called a "Chocolate Chip" pleco, but to no avail.

The "Chocolate Chip" Plec that I saw had a brownish-grey body, several medium-sized "chocolate chip"-looking spots, and two white tips at the end of its tail. Can anyone help me find the exact identification of this pleco, species and all? Any help would be greatly appriciated!

EDIT: I imagine this ID would take anyone quite a while to solve, so I'll be back in an hour or so to see if we have any results!

Leporacanthicus joselimai. I'm not sure of the exact spelling.

They are not rare fish, persay. At your specialty fish store, ask them to do a special order or ask to see their ordering list. For plecs, there should be an L number by each entry. Look for L-264.

They're also sometimes listed as the "sultan pleco", though I've seen L264 a lot more. These fish are sweet looking; I'm tempted to buy one myself.
They aren't rare; I've actually seen them quite a bit on Aquabid. At least one of them gets sold every month, it seems.

yeah, FNF is a member on aquabid that always has cool plecs available. I usually see at least one auction per month of his with an L264 aka Sultan's plec, White trim chocolate chip plec, or Snowball (I think) plec. This one has several different names.
