After waiting for a very long time, we finally purchased 3 emerald corys!! Very exciting. The little guys are shoaling nicely, and hopefully they settle in with little or no trouble!

Well, you've got 3 Brochis splendens.... Do you have any pictures?. These are a species that are on my want list & hopefully in the near future, i'll get some.

Hope you'll enjoy them.

The tag on the tank said corydoras aenus, so possibly they are green corys.... I have done my research, and I think they are emeralds. They are a happy bunch for sure. The are loving the Hikari sinking wafers as well.

The way to make sure is the dorsal fin; Brochis have a longer dorsal fin base because of more dorsal fin rays. Good job on spotting contaminants, that's a fun thing to do with Cories. For some reason I always get a kick out of buying a fish that the LFS has no idea what it is. Come to think of it, one of my current fish was unlabeled, one was mislabeled, and I'm considering picking up some arcuatus mislabeled as agassizii, lol.

I've done that with julii and trilineatus at one of our local lfs that seems to have trouble keeping them straight. Of course, they charge more of julii.

Aeneus would be bronzes, which are lovely too, but how wonderful if you've got B. splendens! I've never seen them available here, and if you got them for the price of bronzes then you've done doubly well!

I vote! Do you?

Yes, you can count the rays on the Dorsal Fin & that way you can be 100% sure.

If you have Brochis instead of C.aeneus, you've done a great job, especially if you paid for C.aeneus.
