Yesterday I when to the lfs and brought home 4 Zebra Loaches for my 20 gal tank with some barbs and a common pleco. So far they seem to be getting along just fine. They are quite fun to watch!

Congrats! That's a nice-sized group that will be good company for each other.

How large is your plec though and do you have plans for when it outgrows the tank?

That's a nice purchase and like Theresa I'm concerned with the pleco, the one that I have is currently around 10" and I know will get larger yet.

Ok so I mess up by saying a common pleco. What I really have is a clown pleco (2.5 -3". They stay smaller like 4 or 6 inches. Later this summer when I move I plan on setting up a 40 Gal that I have sitting in my closet being I just don't have room for it right now.

As for common plecos... I have one that I kept in a 20 for a couple of years and now in my 55 gal. he is about 7 or 8"s now. I really don't have a clue what to do with him after he gets to big for the 55. I might just have to get a really big tank. I would love to have something 100 Gal. or bigger but being a poor college kid its just not the right time. It was really hard a week ago to turn down a 130 for $350 with all the goods with it.

I have 6 zebra loaches and I love them! They look so funny when they try to swim along with the serpaes or bleeding hearts. The other fish look at them as if to say "what the hell?" Great fish.

I have 5 zebra loaches and they are very very funny fish.

I keep them with my clowns, and they were really nice to the first pair of clowns I got, getting them to shoal and stuff.

I have 3 juveniles and 2 adults.

Congrats on your buy.

I've got 3 zebra loaches and 2 Botia Kubotai, and they're always playing and nipping at each other, its so funni~! and i've trained them so that when i come up to the tank and scratch it lightly with my fingertips, they'd recognize the fingers and the resulting vibrations that they would come up to greet me in hopes of receiving more food~! hehehehhe...
