Hello. Just to keep people updated on what clownloachfan has been up to lately, here you go. I got 4 Botia kubotai(polka dot loaches) and 5 Botia striata(zebra loaches). I would have bought more of each but that is all that they had. The zebras are about 1 & 3/4 in. and the kubotais are about 2 in. I have had each for a day now and so far no ich. The zebras are very active and school with my yoyo loaches, i guess this is because of somewhat of a same body pattern. The biggest yoyo(4.5 in.) seems to be the leader of the yoyos and the zebras. The zebras have been out and about and are not afraid when i come to the tank. The kubotais on the other hand are shy and always dart to the nearest hiding spot. They have not seem to started to eat that great yet, but it has only been one day. All of the new loaches have gotten their color back since acclimation. The zebras are not as colorful as they could be, but they are still young and juveniles. They also need to be fed good.
As for plants, i got some hornwort, more narrow leaved hygro and more narrow leaved java fern. The narrow leaved java fern is extremely nice. It is super green and 12 inches tall. Well, that is it for now, i will keep everyone informed on how things go.

Seems like a cool tank. But IMO, you ought to branch out a bit, maybe try a grrr tank or something of the sort. Sounds nice, though.

thanks for the comments.

Cup_of_Lifenoodles- What is a grrr tank?

Well, today i added a piece of driftwood into the tank and another cave for the kubotais to feel more comfortable. This seems to be helping. They are still somewhat shy when it comes to feeding and me being in the room watching. The zebras are doing excellent. They are scarfing up tons of foood. Their favorite is bloodworms. No one has died and the dreaded ick has not appeared. On a sad note though, which i forgot to mention, last week my angelfish died. It was an old fish so it was probably natural causes.

Just an offhand slang for aggressive loach tanks (I thought you were a loachesonline user, sorry).

I am, but I mostly lurk, since I don't care much for botia and really only keep balitorids.

Well, everything is mostly well. One of my kubotais is always hiding and wont come out to feed. He does not look sick, but i guess he needs a little more time to be more comfortable.
