Some of them are easy to care for, while others are more delicate than discus. Plecos are a diverse bunch, and many have way different care requirements from others. Some plecs grow huge, others stay small. Some prefer meaty foods, while others are mainly vegetarian. Some plecs need very clean, fast flowing, highly oxygenated water to live; others don't give a hoot. So you see, it really varies a lot. Any species in particular that you're interested in? So any other suggestions would be helpful. |

A lot of them have nice black and white coloring; one of the coolest is L260. Another genus with a good number of black and white plecs is Peckoltia, though there are some "cream"-colored plecs in there as well. You should look and see if you like any of the fish in either of the above genera. |
