	Otos as scavengers
katieb Fish Addict Posts: 697 Votes: 69 Registered: 03-Jul-2004	Today i picked up an oto. I dont have an algae problem. I was actually looking for ghosties to help clean the gravel (along with the Gravel Vac, of course). The LPS recomended an oto as a scavenger. I know theyre good for algae, but do they do anything with leftover food or waste? I bought him some sinking algae tabs just in case. I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French.

They do need to be kept in schools though!!!! They should have SOME algea, and I've only rarely seen them eat algea wafers (depends what brand they are too). I'm so adjective, I verb nouns!

When i came back the tablet was gone, so i think he enjoyed it. I might take the gups back and get him a buddy. If not, get him more buddies and grow some algae on a rock in your apartment/house in a jar by the window.
