Can otto tolerate a temp. of 28, 29 degrees C?

Definitly not for a long period of time, and maybe not at all. Most people will agree, ottos are sensitive to water conditions. So the odds aren't very good that an ottos would survive in that temperature.

I agree that it's not likely, ottos generally prefer faster and cooler temps than most fish. If you're thinking of getting them for that temp, I'd suggest against it. If you already have some I'd suggest increasing surface agitation and water movement as much as possible.

That temperature is definitely too high for any otto, at least for a sustained amount of time. If you don't already have any ottos, and still want an algae eater, may I suggest a bristlenose?
