They have darkened and are begining the twirling thing they do. Here is a pic of the 3 girls hanging out. Such hotties. From left to right: Debbie, Cali, and Big Mama. -getting away from the men for a while (and kids) |

Yes I do see the females getting away from it all and hiding in the denser parts of the tank away from the roudy boys. Ecspecially Big Mama she is one for the spa days in the anubias. |

RNJ_Punk Big Fish Cory Fanatic Posts: 395 Kudos: 114 Votes: 137 Registered: 12-Nov-2006 | Bud thanks for the reply, I have to agree, I used to have so many larger rocks and a carpet of micro sword I could hardly see them. So I rearranged my scape to make my pandas more viewable. It has changed alot since that photo I took a while back in this log. They dont seem to mind me taking out some stuff, and I am glad I did so I can see them sooo much better now. They still have thier hiding spots though. Yep, they enjoy each others company dont they, if you dont mind Bud, posting a pic of your pandas in here since mine arent too good, ecspecially your fry, as mine look basically the exact same as yours did. That would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Budzilla Enthusiast Posts: 288 Kudos: 197 Votes: 90 Registered: 18-Jul-2006 | i haven't had anymore fry but they are still spawning. Again wit hall the hardscape I can't find the eggs before they are eaten by the loaches. I also had some bronze cory eggs but they fungused. I'll take some pictures of my pandas soon and i'll post them on here. -Vincent |

Give them about an hour to settle in after the water change (completed about 10 mins ago, it's 7:30 pm ish here in the UK as I type this, and don't forget we're on British Summer Time at the moment, GMT +1, not that you'd know it with the torrential rain we've been having of late) and then the live food goes in. Watch the mayhem ensue about 3 hours after that I think. |

RNJ_Punk Big Fish Cory Fanatic Posts: 395 Kudos: 114 Votes: 137 Registered: 12-Nov-2006 | Thanks for the reply Cali, mine have also had a small water chagne which has led to this post: 15th Spawning: 7/14/07 Mother: Debbie 16th Spawning: 7/14/07 Mother: Cali ----------------------------------------------------------- The eggs hatched, and the fry only made it a few hours . I am pretty sure it that it was becasue I was lazy and waited till halfway through their development so im sure it was the change in water chemistry. My fault With the new eggs I collect tomorrow morning from the current spawning party that is happening as I type I will immediately put in the QT |

RNJ_Punk Big Fish Cory Fanatic Posts: 395 Kudos: 114 Votes: 137 Registered: 12-Nov-2006 | I collected another 4 eggs from the front glass this morning. I just left the eggs in the main tank in the breeder box like I did the 2 fry that are out in the wild. So these ones should do just fine. The fry are now feeding with the parents at feeding time. The baby flag fish continues to bother the fry. And nip the fins of the adults. Gonna have to think of something to do with the little stinker if the pestering gets worse. When I get back (going to NYC) I will tell about the new fry I will ahve (hopefully) adn how everyone else did being fishy-sat. I will also get a pic of the tank now. (looks great) Bye! I will be back Friday! |

RNJ_Punk Big Fish Cory Fanatic Posts: 395 Kudos: 114 Votes: 137 Registered: 12-Nov-2006 | Hello all! Well, I had an amazing trip all over the east coast. But am glad to be back home to see the panda herd! Well I arrived home to see the 4 new babies hatched and the look great! Growing already. I found 3 more eggs on the wall that looked new (no embryos) and another egg on the magnet wall cleaner that was pretty developed and hatched soon after I put it in the breeder box with its older siblings, cousins, who knows whos fry that one is. So the 5 FRY in there are a mix between Calis, Debbies, and possibly Big Mamas. The three eggs, are unknown, but there had to be at least 2 spawnings while I was gone so I am thinking it is Cali and Debbies since they are the ones who spawn at the same time. But who knows? Big Mamas two older fry are looking amazing! they are about 3/4 of an inch now and have lost there fry spots. Now getting the tannish color of the adults. They also school with there parents and the other older ones. The 5 adults are all doing well too. Not much new with them other than obviously wanting to expand there family . That is all for now I will adding more pics soon. |

I am glad to hear that the babies are alive and well, cannot wait for another update and some more pics! RNJ_Punk Big Fish Cory Fanatic Posts: 395 Kudos: 114 Votes: 137 Registered: 12-Nov-2006 | Sorry about the long absense. I have been everywhere! Anyway, I have been raising four babies, not sure whose they are, and they are gorwing very fast. I put many MTS in with them to help clean up old food and produce infusoria for the fry. The current babies are around 6 mm long and doing great. One little guy was having problems with his swim blader and he had a giant bubble but he is back to normal. The teenagers, as I am calling them now are doing great, lost their peppered spots, and are now a tannish color like the adults. I have a few pics of the tank. As usual they are terrible, but a good camera will come my way before the end of the year lol. Big Mama under the large driftwood peice, this is a main hang out spot for the herd. |

They are supposed to be semi-rare. I posted a pic of them the day I got them in the tetra section. I also got a female bolivian for my male. But they are having a hard time getting along. |

RNJ_Punk Big Fish Cory Fanatic Posts: 395 Kudos: 114 Votes: 137 Registered: 12-Nov-2006 | So it has been QUITE a while since my last update. I have been busy with summer/ and preparing for yet another school year. All is well with the tank and fish everyone is healthy. Love is in the air for the gouramis with a female plump with eggs and a male building a new bubble nest every day. Onto the pandas. I just LOVE these fish. They are by far the funniest/ most entertaining fish I have kept. Let me share a little observation of mine I have noticed while watching my small panda family. PANDAS LIKE TO HANG OUT WITH PANDAS THIER SIZE.Lol Shadow and Teek seem to have a bond that is very very close. I hardly ever see one without the other. And also the 4 fry I ahve recenlty introduced into the tank also stay together. Although one of them stays with the main herd. Shadow and Teek also are hanging with the adults more as they have gotten bigger. I also have 4 fry still in the nursery and an egg that is halfway developed. So.... Main Panda Herd: Big Mama Wasabi Debbie Cali Warren Shadow Teek 4 new Fry A total of 11 in the main tank And 4 and an egg in nursery. So there ya go. More pics to come soon. |
