My lfs has some baby ones that I thought were just about the cutest things. I am just curious about them. They are so cute. they were chasing each other around the bottom of the tank. They also stay small, about 1 1/2 inches, so are compatible in smaller tanks. I think they are very worth it to get. They scavenge extremely well but love frozen foods. I also feed sinking wafers which they seem to eat. |

Calilasseia![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() *Ultimate Fish Guru* Panda Funster Posts: 5496 Kudos: 2828 Votes: 731 Registered: 10-Feb-2003 ![]() ![]() | RM, if you missed the spawning, you missed a spectacle - Pandas are acrobatic spawners, often adopting the "t" position in midwater, and sometimes so energetically that they somersault! Keep an eye out for them and watch for frantic swimming up the glass, followed by a large female seemingly being mauled by a "rugby scrum" of males. Spawning tends to follow pretty shortly after that. And, if you want to encourage this, feed them a big banquet of live Bloodworm an hour after a major water change and gravel vac. Spawning should follow pretty soon afterwards - in the case of my Pandas, spawning can take place as little as 40 minutes after a water change and live food banquet! ![]() |
