![]() | Pandas first or Harlies first? |

The numbers have been good and the fish are active, eating and a stunning red color. (Unsure of the exact numbers at this time; I do my water checks before heading off to bed each night.)However, once cycling is complete and everything is stable I obviously plan on stocking the rest of my tank. So, the question I pose tonight is do I stock my Pandas first or stock my Harlequin Rasboras first? Does it even really matter? I have a 20g tank and I plan on a small school of Harlies (probably 7), 6 Pandas and my pair of Barbs. I am so anxious to get my Pandas, however, I definitely want what is best for them. Would they benefit in any way from having the Harlies stocked first? Thanks to anyone who offers their opinion. ![]() |

One, pandas have been known to be unstable at times, and by putting the harlies in first you'll give the tank more time to stableize. (errr...I know that's spelled wrong) Two, pandas are bottom feeders, and having a big school of top dwellers will ensure that some extra food can make it to the bottom. That's just how I'd do it. ![]() HTH -Formerly known as the Ferretfish ![]() |
