Peckoltia sp. (L134) | |
Brengun Big Fish Posts: 355 Kudos: 187 Votes: 110 Registered: 22-Jun-2007 | I got three Peckoltia sp. (L134) or Leopard Frog Plecostomus for my Mother's Day present. They are only little fellows yet but hopefully I can raise them to adulthood. Like many pleco species they are hiding out and sulking in the quaranteen tank at the moment but eventually they will come out. I managed to sneak a couple of pretty average shots with the zoom lens. Now I can gaze at the photos instead of peering into the tank every time I pass by. |

Wingsdlc Fish Guru What is this? Posts: 2332 Kudos: 799 Registered: 18-Jan-2005 | Very nice fish. They are one of the prettier plecos for not quite an outrageous price if I remember correctly. Do you know if you can sex them? 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |

Brengun Big Fish Posts: 355 Kudos: 187 Votes: 110 Registered: 22-Jun-2007 | The L134's seem to be doing ok. They are still in the quaranteen tank as the tank I want to put them in is currently undergoing a worming treatment and I want the tank perfect for them. They don't seem to have a huge voracius appetite as I have to syphon the uneaten food out every couple of days. Maybe its just because I only have 3 of them and they are only little yet. They have colored up to a nice bright yellow and black so they must be ok, diet wise. I got them from http://www.plecofanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55517 as a special deal. They do pack them in oxygen for airfreighting and send interstate. Being only little yet, they are difficult to sex but there are head length and body dimension differences between the 3 so hopefully I have a mix of sexes with them. |
