I am very interested in pit bull plecos but I have had a hard time finding any usable info on them. I checked their profile both here and at planet catfish, then did a google search.

I am thinking about adding one (or more) to my 15 gallon tank along with a group of male guppies. But the tank has small-medium gravel and their profile said they need sand. Also, is driftwood necesary? And they need groups? Are they hardy? Are they good algea eaters? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!

In no particular order:

They aren't avid DW diners.

They aren't very good algae eaters.

They don't need sand.

They tend to be on the delicate side.
