Hi, I have 2 Uaru and 2 Discus in a 90 gallon tank and am looking for some bottom feeders to go along with them. Any suggestions?

Companions for Discus and Uarus? Ideally, the kind of catfishes that would share their natural waters. Which means you'll be looking at the bigger Corys, Brochis splendens or possibly even Hoplosternum species. You could also run with Raphael cats. Make sure the Discus are a good deal bigger than the catfish in question if you go with Raphaels or other non-Cory/non-Brochis cats, particularly if you decide to go with the likes of those silver and black Pictus cats.

If you're looking for rarities to match the rarity value of your Discus and Uarus, try the Genus Brachyrhamdia - these are members of the Family Heptapteridae that look like Corys except for the MUCH longer barbels. But for the barbels and the naked flanks (no body scutes), Brachyrhamdia imitator is an almost exact duplicate of Corydoras melanistius!

Get a school of Corydoras & you'll be very happy with all their entertainment.

Thanks for all your help. Time to figure out where I can actually find some of these fish. I'll have to keep an eye on aquabid.

Looks like a nice fish...are they schooling fish like Corys? Hmmm...gonna have to start searching around to find some. None of the local fish stores here seem to carry them and I'm sure if they did they would mix them up with the corys anyway.

Grouchy,
actually these types of catfish
are schoolers. They school with the corys
they resemble!
So if you got one of these and either some
melanistus or other cory that looks very similar
the catfish will school with them.
Mine I got in a mixed cory bunch, was mixed in with
panda, fowleri, and metae corys.
Apparently they had had 6-9 of these like mine,
but had sold them as cory cats.
I was lucky to get the last one.
