I have about 10 of them (Pygmy and Habrosus) both are often confused and sold as the same thing. (which can be good!) Pygmys have a black line down the length of their body, while the habrosus are all spotted. (Both IMO are extremely cute)
Not pygmy, but Habrosus pretty similar

If you have sand, that is probably best for these little guys, mine like to plow through it and sift it. Big leaves are good for them to rest on and same with flat rocks. Make sure you keep them in a school of at least 6, these guys are extremely social!

They love bloodworms, shrimp pellets and those bottom feeder wafers from Hikari.

As to where to find them, see if your LFS can order them if they don't carry them. That is what I did, I paid about $1.50 each for them.

I've read that they like to be kept in larger groups. I only have 3, that was all my lfs had left at the time. Mine tend to keep to themselves and don't bother any of the other fish. They often like to rest on the leaves of plants.

For some reason I don't see them at my of the lfs here. Arizona Aquatic Gardens normally carries pygmies; they call them dwarf cory cats on their site.

I say some at a huge pet store in Virginia Beach today, they had a tank full. Hard to believe they are cories, though.

Same thought I had when I first saw them. To me they look quite similar to otos.
