![]() | Queen Arabesque Breeding and Pygmy Corys |
Perky![]() Mega Fish Posts: 1064 Kudos: 1036 Votes: 162 Registered: 24-Nov-2003 ![]() ![]() | Would they be fine together? I was thinking about getting some Pygmy Corys but also want to breed Queens. I thought Corys mat eat eggs but 1) They would be too big for Pygmys I guees and 2) The male would guard them anyway. I know how to breed the Queens, just need to buy them and I know how to keep Corys, just need to buy again. Anybodys input is good. Thanks. |

Personally, I would likely just leave them out of the tank. |

I'm curently holding a breeding pair of king tigers with a clan, so to speak, of misc. cories. When the eggs are first laid, the male will be protective, and will block the entrace of the spawning cave with his forehead. Unless the cories actually attempt to enter the area, the male wont do anything other than jitter around a bit. Also, I'd be a bit concerned about the cories feeding on the plec fry once the male releases them from the cave. |

I have read in Tropical Fish Hobbyist that solitude can be an important catalyst for spawning in some fish species, while still being an important factor with others. With a group of active cories clowning around, a queen arabesque pair might not feel up to the spawning task. ![]() |
