Is there anyone who keeps queen loaches?I have seen one which is the only loach in the tank.I have a 75gal.that has two 4" clown loaches and two small zebra loaches. This queen loach is 2" in size.Any problems with just one of these with my other loaches?

I've had my two queen loaches for over two years now (I originally had a trio). They are currently in my 75g with one clown of approximately the same size and four yo-yos.

IME queens are a bit more agressive than other loaches. All three species will group together in my tank but if anyone ever causes problems it's the queens. They've claimed one particular piece of driftwood as their territory, each of them has a spot where they wedge themselves in vertically. The other loaches aren't 'allowed' near that piece of wood.

It seems that your loaches and the queen you're considering are young so I wouldn't think there would be problems. I don't have experience with zebras though.

Is there any way you could arrange things in the tank before adding the queen?

I could do this without a problem,my zebra loaches are in the two inch range, and grow to three inches. I've had them for a year now .The clowns are four years old.I'll research problems with the queen loach.I just felt sorry for the little guy and thought it might find my tank a better home then the ten gal.tank that it's in now.Thank you for your reply.
