Mine gets up in the plant, head down, and stays there. Since I wanted something to clean the gravel a bit, I got three chinese algea eaters. They are like lawn mowers in a large field, constantly at it. They seem very active andmy gravel is cleaner. I do put a bit of the algea tablets in there on occassion just to make sure they are not hungry. Maybe I need to put some uppers in my tank for them to stay awake a while. They are alive though.
