I bought a rubber lipped pleco shortly after Christmas, when I got him, he was the only one in the tank, so I couldn't compare him to anyothers in there. Recently, when I went to pick up some more Zebra CHichlids for my tank, I saw more rubber-lipped plecos. These ones are a different color then my fish, they were all a solid grey. Mine is grey with darker stripes and small white spots. Are these the same species?

I had one similar to the second one you described. I just bought another that is, anatomically, identical to the first one although he is more of a creamy yellowish brown color. I would assume that they are the same species and maybe the color is something unique to a a particular line that they were being bred from (?).

There are multiple species of "rubber lipped" plecos, especially as many fish in the genus Chaetostoma may carry the name. Though quite a few of these plecos have not yet been described, it is quite likely that you are seeing different species. As this page shows, there are significant differences between the plecs.

I think mine looks cooler then a solid. As long as they act the same, I should be okay.
