I saw these at the LFS today (not a bad price either, cheaper than the pandas...and they have these other fish advertised as pandas, but clearly they're not. I think they're C. metae. They have a black stripe down their back and a black dorsal fin and the line stops before their tail). The looked really intriguing and I can't find any decent info on the internet on them.

So if you know anything on them (C. similis) or have a decent wesbite, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Some info:

Care of c. similis should be pretty standard as with all corydoras: a group of at least 6 is ideal, feed with good quality sinking pellet/wafer and live/frozen food like bloodworms, weekly partial water change, and smooth, rounded substrate (I prefer sand or very fine gravel, but have used 3mm smooth gravel).

I have c. caudimaculatus which is similar to c. similis except for the distinct tail spot (c. similis' spot is more of an enlarged smudge that extends towards the body). Have fun if you decide to get them!

Corydoras similis are beautiful little things. As upikabu said, they're standard cories and aren't very difficult to take care of. The "smudge-spot" Corydoras is one of only a few species which has the large tail spot. I can never find these guys for sale except online; I wish I was as lucky as you are.
