I have somebody coming from the US and I was hoping he could bring me a small pleco. I am not sure what pleco I want, but I have lots of wood, lots of algae, and anything a little pleco might need.

Things to consider:

1. I have two tanks, one with a common pleco in it, and one is an aggressive cichlid tank with convicts and jewels and salvinis, so he should be able to hold his own.

2. I kno nothing about the import policies, so it cant be one of the L plecos. It has to be something he can pass off as a gift to a friend, so if anybody knows anything about taking fish out to India, please let me know.

Thanks,
Clowny

I don't know about importing fish into India, but try this link to Planet Catfish.[link=http://www.planetcatfish.com]http://www.planetcatfish.com" style="COLOR: #009999[/link] They have information on all or almost all the plecos and catfish. You can search by L #, or scientific name, or common name.

I am not sure if these species are what you would want:
BN
Tiger Pleco
Queen Arabesque
Clown Pleco
Candy Strip Pleco

If you see one that can be imported, be sure to specifiy the L number to make sure you get excatly what you want.

I think that plecos are not recommended for cichlid tanks, due to cichlid's aggression. But I have heard the raphael catfish recommended for a cichlid tank. Someone with more first hand knowledge may be able to tell you more.
