next weekend I'm going to pick up some 20-25 garra rufa.

http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/speciesSummary.php?ID=26483&genusname=Garra&speciesname=rufa

They are kept in spas in southern Europe, where they help cure skin deseases like psoriasis.

Not hat I have a skin condition, but I've always been fascinated with the behaviour that they spread;
just put your hand in the tank and they'll swarm all over it, eating dead skin cells.

I figure a school of 20 or so in my 95 gal. will be very nice. They'll have a scat and a barbus binotatus for company.

That's awesome. I have heard of other fish that will do this too, but never heard of any being kept in a tank. Are they willing to feed on typical aquarium foods, and is this good enough nutritionally? They aren't obligatory dead skin/scale eaters, are they?

@ sirbooks:
they are said to eat anything from algae to left over flakes. The guy I'm getting them from, says they're keeping his tank perfectly clean.

On top of that; once they're settled in, they breed easily ...
I saw them at one LFS for 5 euros each, I'm getting them for 0.50 euro each, just because this guy has to get rid of some youngsters ...
