Hi Folks

The L numbers

Firstly, can I say that these L numbers are fanastic fish.

I am a "pleco" fan, considering that these are shipped from the jungle and I suppose in years to come will become very rare, (as everthing today is in comparison) when i see them in my LFS myself and the wife can not resist them to give them a good home after they travelled half way around the world, I suppose its becoming not really a hobby but perhaps a probable conservation!!!

Sorry to be so morebid but my recent acquistions are a fantastic L172a and a L264 (described as being very rare)

Lovely, lovely fish - probably will never breed in captivity, but will live for many years in my tank

What are your aquisitions?

Do you think we are now possibly becoming conservationalist? (excuse the spelling!!)

A talking project

Best regards

Dave the rave

those 2 you got are a couple of awesome plecos. I've been wanting an L264 for a long time now...I just can't stop spending money on cichlids long enough to order a few.

As for them not ever breeding in captivity, that's not true. Many plecos are being spawned and as these others become more available they will be as well. There's a guy on aquabid always selling cool plecos and one of these days I will place an order with him for 6-8 of the L264's and try to breed them. I'd also like to try spawning my L124.

so far my plec collection consists of...these pics are all of my actual fish:

L18 Gold Nugget Pleco
L124 Para Pleco
L190 Royal Pleco
L?? Male Brown Bristlenose Pleco I have 2 brown males, but have never taken a pic of the other one
L147 (I think) this is the best pic I've gotten so far. the pattern has changed quite a bit and at some times he looks identical to the L124
common plec only common plec I have at the moment
L144 Albino Bristlenose Pleco I've got about 10 of these, waiting to see some pairs form

I also have but the following...I couldn't find my own pictures of these so I'll give links to pics on the net so you can see what they look like.
L93 Blue Finned Thresher Pleco
L151(?) Venezuelan Flathead Pleco mine looks exactly like these, but has never grown. it's only about 3-3.5"
L106 Spotted Orange Seam Pleco
L?? red and black bristlenose plecos...I think I still have 3 of them. these are still fairly new to the hobby from what I understand.

and I think that's it...for now. There is a Peppermint Pleco at an lfs where I now work part time (1 day a week) that has really been calling my name lately.

Far more than I care to remember. However, I currently have L-260, L-46, L-255, L-162, and L-66; still upping the hypancistrus count. Also, I hate to burst your bubble, but L-264 are fairly well circulated fish; though, granted, they're beautiful.

EDIT: Jase, what happened to your L-260?

I really have no idea what happened...just found it laying upside down on the gravel one day.
