After the sad loss of one of my Pandas last week, I have some goode news. Yesterday while doing my daily algae harvest I saw a baby Panda in my tank. I knew the Pandas were happy with the tank but I had no idea they spawned.

The little on is about a quarter of an inch. I've only seen the one, but there may be more. I don't have another tank so I'll leave it in there. Does anyone know what I should do special? I was planning on just letting it be. I first spotted it while it was feeding with the adult Pandas. Any idea how fast they grow and at what stage they'll be safe in the tank?

Thanks

Eric

Congratulations & welcome to FP.

Well if there are big fish in your tank, they'll chase it. What are the other tank mates?.

Welcome to FP

Congratulations on the new baby as well

As Jason said it depends on what exactly is in the tank and the temperament of the fish in there. I've found that my metae are very happy in my 125 and am always being surprised by the new fry (and no I never do outgrow the squeal of finding another new metae fry I'd say that as long as you have plenty of room for the little guy/gal to hide and they have plenty to eat then you will be fine

At a quarter of an inch he is probably about a month old or so. I've noticed that the metaes seem to go through growth spurts and will suddenly jump in size, so I suppose it will be the same with the pandas...just make sure they get plenty of love and places to hidehouston

There are 5 grow Pnadas, 6 Harliquens, 6 White Clouds and 4 shrimp. He's been staying to one side of the tank in some plants near the Panda's 'feeding area' I only waw him twice yesterday and twice today. Yesterday he ws feeding off the bottom.

I hope he survives, but I'm not sure what I can do for him.
