Buy more Corydoras of the same type that you already have. Corydoras like to stay in schools of 6.

Honestly, more cories will be your best bet. They do prefer larger groups, but also, that tank has a rather limited amount of space, so cories would be the best bottom feeder for you. If you're having an algae problem and specifically need an algae eater, then I would recommend a couple Otocinclus. They knock any algae you have out in no time...

I tried Ottos but they are sooo weak fish that they die within a month of puchase.

Think i may look at other species of corydoras, as i do have a sandy substrate.

Could do with planting it up abit as it looks a sorry state!! I'm ashamed

I agree with Jason. Get something like you already have. The current cory population will appreciate it.

Make your Cory shoal 6 minimum of the same species, preferably 8-10 if you have the space, then start thinking about additional companions if there is still space to do so.

Believe me, Corys tend to come alive big time when you give them decent sized groups.
