Does anyone know what kind of pleco this is. I bought him about 4 months ago and he was tiny (1.5 inch). I know he's a dwarf. He has an off-white border on the tail.

From that picture, it is very difficult to tell. Could you get a good, unobstructed side-shot? That way, the tail, fins, patterning, and head would all be visible.

The fish reminds me of an Ancistrus, at least in the head area. It could be Ancistrus claro, but I wouldn't know without a better picture.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Definitely an ancistrus of some sort. True claros cost $$, but I agree with Nick it that it looks something to that effect.

I think it's just a normal Ancistrus sp. but it's a bit difficult to make posive ID.. picture is a little bit blurry.

There are, as of now, at least seven different species of fishes dubbed as "common" bristlenoses, including claro, though the attractive markings of the aforementioned fish usually hold them at a higher price than most.

That's a good deal, even if it is just a regular Ancistrus sp. There are a number of Ancistrus sp. fish, which have not been given their own official species/subspecies names. Many of these fish look very similar, as well. As such, it can be tough to place a correct identification on all but the most distinctive BNs, like A. dolichopterus and adult A. ranunculus.

Here's an even better pic of my unknown pleco, which I believe is being identified as a Ancistrus sp.
