I'm finally getting a Walking Catfish, I always wanted one, and never could get them in but they are in my LFS now and only for $7.

Cool fish, make sure the tank is covered tightly or you may find the walking catfish taking a stroll.]]]

Which species are you getting? Only there's quite a choice.

Two I can name off the top of my head are Clarias batrachus (the one that acquired the bad reputation in Florida) and Clarias angolensis. Both get big. An adult batrachus is supposed to reach 40 inches according to Planet Catfish, with different sources usually citing a smaller maximum SL. However, back in the 1970's, there were tabloid newspaper reports alleging that escaped specimens in Florida grew to 5 feet and were eating such unlikely food items as Pekingese dogs

You'll never be bored with it, that's for certain

Most sold in the US are of the genus clarias. They, as stated, grow very large and eat many fish.
