A friend is going to the US. I need to kno, what are his chances of bringing back a Bristlenose pleco for me. Would this be illegal, and if yes, if he is caught at the US airport, will the fish be killed? I dont think he will be caught at the Indian airport, and even if he is, there is a very good chance, they will let him go with the fish. |

Now the hard part is calling the airline your friend plans on taking back to India and asking them what he needs to do with the fish. I have flown several times with fish and they almost didn't let me hand carry some bristlenoses to Nebraska once because the fish in the bag wouldn't move for the dang TSA. So of course why would I want to carry a dead fish. I had to open the bag and let him physically TOUCH my fish before it moved and they felt secure that I was just carrying a live fish with me and let me go with it. Goodluck, Audra edit: well it is of course smuggling if it is illegal to import bristlenose to India. Look for your illegal import list. If it is not there then there is no reason at all your friend cannot do that for you, just might be some extra paperwork.
