I have a 10 gallon tank. The room I have it in is rather warm - 80 - 85 degrees even with air conditioning. Which bottom feeder is rather hearty to handle the warm water?

I have 2 swordtails, 5 neon tetra and 3 silver hatchet tetras.

Do you have a heater in your tank? What is the temp of this room in the winter? Most catfish prefer temperatures cooler than 77F, although most will withstand higher temperatures.

I have a heater, but for 9 months it doesn't turn on (Florida). The water stays warm all the time.

Most cories shouldn't really be kept for long periods above 76-78F (yes, I know some keep theirs higher) although sterbai are one of a few species of cories that tolerate higher temps well.

Be very carefull with Corydoras & heat. I'm having trouble with them right now. The water temp. is 32 deg. cel. but the outside temp. is 36/7 deg. cel.

I had some deaths, especially with the Peppered & Bronze Corydoras.

Since nobody else has mentioned this, you do not have room for any more fish in that tank. So unless you take some fish back or give some away, there is no need to think about more fish. Sorry, but it's true.

Yes, i forgot to mention it. T/A is right, no more room in your tank for the Corydoras.

As already mantioned, the tank is over stocked and I agree that the temp is too high to maintain cory's (and most other fish) in their best condition.
