Anyone ever keep these little fellas? I was thinking of getting one, or two, or five. But they probably will think a 10g is to snug, they are 6 inches, anyone can tell mw proper tank size that'd be great, and i noticed there was no file on them, maybe i should make it... Thanks all

Hi Hammy

Have a read through this.

I don't think that the weather / dojo loaches are the right fish for your 10g. They can get up to 10 inches and can be very active.

Maybe have a look at the kuhli loach if you really want a loach or two in that tank (depending on what else you have in there already).

You need a 55+ for dojos. Maybe a 40g but at least something that's 4'. They will be way too cramped in anything under that. These are very large active loaches that will prefer a group of 4-6. They won't be able to move in a 10g and will end up stunting and dying very early.

Kuhlis would be a good alternative if you want the look of a dojo in a smaller size but they aren't quite as active during the day unless you get lots of them and then your tank would be overstocked.

I've found dojo loaches in a tank smaller than 30gal will only want to do one thing, jump out of the tank. Go at least 40gal for these fish and have a good secure top. On the plus side, dojo loaches cn survive a few hours out of the water. (found that out the hard way)
