They reach around four inches and should be kept in groups of at least three, so keep that in mind if you want to get them. However, there is a little trick you can use... have you tried this?: Place a piece of lettuce (or a like vegetable) in your tank. Leave, and come back an hour later. Pull the vegetable out of your tank, along with all the snails that are on it. You can repeat this as many times as you need, and tons of snails come out with every try. |

Unfortunately however, this species is relatively rare and therefore commands a higher price than other loaches (expect to pay at least $20 each for them). They are the smallest Botia species, maxing out at about 2.5"... ![]() I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

With a tank your size, I'd go for Botia Sithmuncki, B. Horae, or another small species. yoyos and clown loaches grow way too large for your tank. My personal favorit is b. sithmuncki; they're active during the day and very chearfull, friendly fish. You should keep them in a school of five to make them happy. Good luck! |

Yoyo's are always listed as snail eaters, but i think that mine are lazy & prefer flakes & granules than snails. ![]() ![]() ![]() http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
