Yoyo loaches are some of the best snail-eating loaches, and they are fun to keep besides. They reach around four inches and should be kept in groups of at least three, so keep that in mind if you want to get them.

However, there is a little trick you can use... have you tried this?: Place a piece of lettuce (or a like vegetable) in your tank. Leave, and come back an hour later. Pull the vegetable out of your tank, along with all the snails that are on it. You can repeat this as many times as you need, and tons of snails come out with every try.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Botia sidthimunki is the best snail-eater by far, in my experience. Unfortunately however, this species is relatively rare and therefore commands a higher price than other loaches (expect to pay at least $20 each for them).

They are the smallest Botia species, maxing out at about 2.5"...

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

as a matter of fact, all Botia species will eat snails.
Just pick one that fits your tank and of which you like the looks, I'd say.

I tried the lettuce thing, and that's didn't work, I tried every other thing, except removing everything and boiling it all!! What can I do to my plants?? Do kill the eggs iff of them??? Any suggestions?

actually, most Botias will also eat the snail eggs, so no worries about that. With a tank your size, I'd go for Botia Sithmuncki, B. Horae, or another small species. yoyos and clown loaches grow way too large for your tank.
My personal favorit is b. sithmuncki; they're active during the day and very chearfull, friendly fish. You should keep them in a school of five to make them happy.

Good luck!

Most Loaches eat snails & snail eggs. Yoyo's are always listed as snail eaters, but i think that mine are lazy & prefer flakes & granules than snails.
