I've never seen a clown plec that was over 4 inches. I don't think they routinely get that large, so upper end of three inches to 4 ish sounds about right.

Clown plecos grow to 4-5" inches if cared for properly.

Otos are probably the smallest plecs. Pitbulls grow a bit larger than otos, at just over 2" long.

But the good thing about pitbull plecs is that they are not shaoling like otos are, so you can keep just one if you are almost at your stocking limit.

fish1-pitbull plecos do only get to 2" You may be thinking of a bulldog pleco (often called rubbernose-hence the problem with common names) that do get considerably larger.

Zebra Plecs will get around 3-4"; never seen a 6" one, though it'd be awesome. However, there are Zebra Otos that are black and white; though larger than other otos, they are still small compared to other plecs.

Zebras get larger than that, about 6". And, no, Rubbernoses/Pitbull Plecs stay at 2" - maybe you're thinking of a similar species? Or it's a common name confusion, I probably should have specified Parotocinclus jumbo.

Otos are plecs, but I'm not sure that's the answer he was looking for, usually people talk about plecs and otos separately.

yes ottos are plecs.
Probably the Rubbernose is pretty far up the list, at about 2".
acctally they get about 4 but may get up to 5in. also i think/thought zebra plecs get 2in isnt that the same as ottos?

Ottos are Loricarids, so as far as I'm concerned they are plecs.:%)

The Otocinclus species are definitely some of the smallest if not the smallest of the plecs.
