	White Stuff=Algea?
Cichlid Kid Fish Addict Posts: 553 Kudos: 285 Votes: 34 Registered: 22-May-2004	i have this white stuff that is filmy on the bottom of my tank that waves in the water is this algea,and if so will my otto eat this white filmy stuff. I do however hopre this is algea as my otto is hungry!]

Too much decaying matter probably means you're feeding too much food... Algae shouldn't be white. The color white is the most effective way of reflecting light away, not absorbing it, which is counterproductive when it comes to photosynthesis. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian.
