Hey guys.

If any of you remember, i moved the one clown loach out of my tank, and put him in my dads (for fighting with the clown loaches in my tank)

After i put him in my dads tank, he looked REALLY bad the next day, and looked like the clown loaches in his tank didnt like the presense.

Well, he got better now, but yesterday, I saw him fighting with the YoYo loach. They were dead on fighting, not like quarrling as they do with food. Their jaws were locked, and the YoYo loach was swimming wildely around the tank, dragging the clown loach with him.

I have never seen that agression with the YoYo loach (he was even getting pushed out of his old cave by a clown loach 1/2 his size. (the one he is fighting with is also 1/2 his size)

What do you guys think i should do? Taking the fish out would b nearly impossible, since i would have to rip the tank apart, and i dont want to stress the fish (im scared to do anything to my dads tank since he has fish as old as me, i was even scared to introduce the said clown loach in fear of him getting ich)

Now, there is only 1 YoYo loach in the tank, and the only friends i can get him are 1/3 his size, and as i have seen in clowns, they wolnt get along. But like I said, this YoYo has NEVER been agressive, so i dont know what would kick this on?

And a little OT, but do clowns like to be jammed in small places? I often see my big clowns jammed next to each other on the side of this rock, and i honostly dont know how they can comftorably fit in there

all loaches are known for the odd places and impossibly tight places they find to nap. the agression is because loaches keep a pecking order even between other species of loaches. by added an outsider this starts the pecking order all over so their will be wrestling matches to determin who is where in the order.

I added the said clown into the tank about a month.

I have a feeling the agression is from there being only 1 in the tank.

wow, i had a dream that the yoyo attacked the clown, and almost killed it (i "watched" the yoyo drag it around the tank, again, and the clown just fell and started breathing heavily at the bottom, then i moved him back to my tank)

And wierdly, there was a small pleco in the tank that died too?

wierd, my dreams are really messed up

Clowns and yoyos are supposed to get along, but if the yoyo is twice the size of the clown, and he has no other loaches to school with, he is going to try to get the clown to be his subject while he acts king. Now unfortunately for you, your clown is also aggressive. My clowns like a little brawl everyday after lunch time and thats okay. You might want to move the clown back with his old buddies so he can fight somebody his own size, its completely normal and healthy and he wont get hurt too. He might even find it easier to follow a clown's orders rather than a yoyo's orders.

Also, you need to get your yoyo some yoyo friends to boss over.

Good luck!

i have 1 yoyo left he killed the other 4 so i moved him into my mbuna tank in which he quickly became king n regularily challenges my dominant male meliochromis

given time things will settle down abit once the order is restored but there will always be agrression between loaches
