Yes, Yoyo loaches are avid snail eaters,
and they definitely dont get anywhere as big.
Yoyos reach about 4 inches, and should be kept in
groups of 3 or more, as with any loach.
Also, other loaches that love snails:
Queen Loaches (6 inches)
Angelicus Loaches (3 inches)
Zebra Loaches (4-5 inches)

yes they love them. They took care of a popultion of small snails in my tank that were getting to be a nuisance because there were to many.

The only snails my Yoyos don't eat are larger ramshorn snails. I don't have any small snails in my 55g though. I guess they decided to let the bigger ramshorn snails live.

I suggest a group of atleast 3, like Sneaky said. The more you have the more you'll see them interact. Mine chase each other all the time...silly loaches.

My yoyos just wiped out a group of large fancy ramshorns. They've also killed 2" applesnails before. No idea why yours would leave them alone.

Occasionally yoyos are sold under other names like pakistani or reticulated. Really most any botia species of which there are dozens will eat snails.

Yup, they like snails as much as clown loaches. I think loaches dream of snail infested tanks, I know I do. I go begging all over the city for pest aquarium snails, just got a bunch of them from a fellow aquarist for my clowns.
