Zebra Otos are not yet formally described as a different species, however they are thought to be one.

Which fish am I going to bring in to get the otos though... Probably two SAEs, so I'll just have one (they are always fighting and getting kind of lazy anyway), my striped raphael if I could find it (haven't seen it in several months), and my stupid orange-finned loach if I could catch him without completely tearing up my tank.

I might bring in my pearl gouramis too, but that would be kind of hard because I've had them for almost two years now and I'm a little bit attached to them.

I have zebra ottos, a very nice fish and for $4 pick up alot and do what some others suggested, SELL ONLINE.

Basically I treat the same as other ottos, acclimate them slowly, I perfer the drip method for them. Also I am leaning towards a different species of otocinclus personally. Time will tell.

The zebra ottos are very much the same fish as regular ottos, the only real difference is the pattern/coloring. Good luck on finding them, I've never seen them for sale, you'd be lucky to procure them.

I'm going to get them soon. They were just on the store's availability list, and we have not ordered any yet.

I think I will get like four or five, and it's going to take a week or two for them arrive.

Simple question: Is $4 each a good deal for them?

If so, then I'll get a few.

Oh... Are they about the same hardiness of regular otos?

Are these a different species or just a color morph?

Judging by the prices I've seen them change hands at, you could buy the lot, then sell some of the surplus ones in the Classifieds here on the board for $8 and make a killing!

Here in the UK they're £30 each - approx $55 US (eek) ...

BUY THEM ALL.

I have seen Zebra Otos sold at prices between $11 and $30.

$4 is a good deal, considering that they're much harder to find than regular ottos. I wouldn't hesitate to buy some if I had an opportunity like that. I'm pretty sure they're about as delicate as the normal kind of ottos, so you'll have to be really gentle. Otherwise, you may not be able to find them again.
