Otocinclus are very small, but they should be kept in groups. Bristlenose catfish stay relatively small, depending on the species. Also, siamese algae eaters stay somewhat small, about six inches. There are others, but these are only some ideas. How small do you need? |

They need to be kept in groups, they need very clean water, with frequent water changes, and they need to be acclimated to a new tank over a long period of time. Think you can handle all of that? |

Plecos, like most algae eaters, are nocturnal. You wouldn't get to see it out and about too much, but it sure would eat algae. |
