I have a 10 gallon and a 29 gallon tank at the moment and was wondering what is the algea eating fish for small tanks. Is the ottos about the only choice. Suggestions would be great.

Otos yes...there are also some smallish plecs but it depends on what else you have in the tank. And of course there are always snails.

agreed. another choice for a 29 would be a rubbernose/bulldog plec, but I do believe bristlenose are the most prolific algae eaters.

Another choice would be the pitbull pleco. They are great algae eaters and only grow to about 2" long.

I would say ottos for the 10 gallon DEFINANTLY!

A bristle nose would do nicely in the 29 gallon, I agree also.

Ottos for the 29 gallon AND the 10 gallon . Amano Shrimp or Cherry Shrimps are also a good choice, but you'd need quite a few to make up for an otto or bristlenose. They are fun to watch though, however mine didn't last too long because i didn't add any iodine. I suggest Kents Iodine.

In an old AFM issue they ranked the Bristlenose as #1 algae eater. I would agree with the majority of the above statements.
